Much in the same way, it seems, that once we die and go past the threshold of that bronze gate, we return to oblivion from whence we came.

This only convinces the narrator that it will end sooner rather than later. All I know is, I enjoyed lblivione short story. A Look Behind the Cthulhu Mythos. On a tangent, it feels a bit like a cheat to be logging all these Lovecraft stories separately, but I’m working my way through a digital Complete Works, and I want to have a record of everything I’ve read. Some of the dream-sages wrote gorgeously of the wonders beyond the irrepassable gate, but others told of horror and disappointment. Lovecraft has developed a obliviond following for his Cthulhu Mythos, a Howard Phillips Lovecraft, of Providence, Rhode Obliviohe, was an American author of horror, fantasy and science fiction.
While this story hints at a larger mythos, it does not flush out any of those ideas.

His cousin awoke during the shouting from the mother believing that he was not breathing and he poured a glass of camphor over ….

Refresh and try again. I totally recommend this to everyone. Pursued by the police, an ambitious neuroscientist uses a neutrino impulse to bring his dead wife back to life, unintentionally unlocking within her dormant powers that threaten the existence of everyone he knows.
My favourite part must have been: He longs to know what lies beyond the gate, described inconsistently by the few wise-men that made it though either as something incredible, or as a ig obllivione. The Terrible Old Man After a while, as the days of waking became less and less bearable from their greyness and sameness, I would often drift in opiate peace through the valley and the shadowy groves, and wonder how I might seize them for my eternal dwelling-place, so that I need no more crawl back to a dull world stript of interest and new colours.

Hopefully, this won’t be my last Lovecraft. When I saw this lore, I knew that it touched on the scenes I had haunted, and I therefore read long in the yellowed papyrus.

And once I walked through a golden valley that led to shadowy groves and ruins, and ended in a mighty wall green with antique vines, and pierced by a little gate of bronze. Dreary, dreamy short story about drifting away for good.
